Feeling Stuck on Your Health Journey? Here’s How to Reconnect, Refocus, and Move Forward
Apr 25, 2025
Have you ever felt lost on your health or weight loss journey? Like no matter what you try—nothing seems to stick, and you’re not sure what your next step should be?
You’re not alone.
Most of us will experience this at some point. Whether you’ve hit a plateau, lost motivation, or feel overwhelmed by the endless noise in the wellness space—sometimes what you need isn’t another diet tweak or more willpower.
What you really need is a reset. A pause. A reconnection with yourself.
Let’s break it down into four key steps that will help you get out of the fog and back on track—starting today.
1. Reconnect with Yourself
We live in a world that’s constantly pulling us in a million directions—emails, kids, notifications, errands. It’s no wonder we go through life on autopilot. But here’s the truth: autopilot won’t get you to your goals.
If you want to feel better, you have to start tuning in.
That starts with checking in with yourself throughout the day:
- How did you feel when you woke up?
- Were you tired, groggy, or energized?
- Did you snack all day or eat with intention?
- How was your energy and focus?
- Did you spend time outside, or did your phone dominate your attention?
I’m not a fan of tracking every calorie or macro—I just don’t think the ROI is there for most people. But journaling how you feel? That’s powerful.
Writing things down gives you clarity. It pulls you out of autopilot and helps you see patterns that might be sabotaging your progress.
2. Evaluate Honestly
Once you start reconnecting and journaling, the next step is taking a good hard look at the data—and being honest with yourself.
This is where you ask:
- What’s actually holding me back?
- Are my habits aligned with my goals?
- What am I avoiding changing because it’s uncomfortable?
For example, if you notice you’re exhausted every day, you need to face the truth that you will not reach your goals without sleep. That’s just reality. All the supplements, workouts, and protein shakes won’t fix what’s rooted in chronic sleep deprivation.
Sometimes the most loving thing you can do for yourself is to call yourself out—with compassion.
3. Plan Intentionally
Here’s the hard truth: our culture is not set up to support your health.
It’s designed for convenience, distraction, and overcommitment. So if you’re waiting for health to “just happen”—you’re going to be waiting a long time.
Health requires planning.
- Want to improve your sleep? Create a bedtime routine.
- Want to move more? Schedule it like a non-negotiable meeting.
- Want to stop late-night snacking? Plan your meals and cut the decision fatigue.
Failing to plan is literally planning to fail. Forethought is your best friend when you're trying to make real, sustainable change.
4. Prioritize What Actually Matters
Let’s talk about the elephant in the room: time.
Most people are already at capacity—mentally, emotionally, and schedule-wise. And still, they’re trying to “add health” on top of everything else.
It doesn’t work that way.
Real change often means subtracting before adding.
It means canceling things. Delegating things. Saying no more often.
And especially for moms, this can feel counterintuitive. But hear me on this:
👉 You are not being selfish when you prioritize your sleep, your workouts, or your mental peace.
👉 You are being responsible.
You cannot pour from an empty cup. You cannot show up for your kids, your spouse, your work, or your life when your tank is bone dry.
Just like on an airplane, you need to put on your own oxygen mask first. That’s not a luxury—it’s a requirement if you want to be the woman, the mom, the leader, and the human you were made to be.
Final Thoughts
If you’re feeling lost, stuck, or discouraged right now—I want you to know: this is your moment to pause and realign.
Reconnect. Evaluate. Plan. Prioritize.
